In many minds, the so called oil countries seems the Eldorado of unaccountable contracts.
A non stop business proposals as well as military purchases or ostentatious projects pours ours administrations and companies but few answer to ours reals needs.
Arabian Gulf increasing financial reserve feeds the voracious appetite of the international banking sector, whether public or private, to alleviate in cash the western banking circuits, severely disturbed by subprimes crisis.
Are we just a checkbook ?
Are we only subjects of history rather than its real actors ?
Dollars recycling maintains an unflattering representation of our countries, somewhat hurtful. Nothing caricature it better that the statement after the visit of western official in ours countries. Just billions of dollars contracts if the rest did not exist, our knowledge, our people !
The situation is likely to change. In the wake of the deployment of the Sovereign wealth funds, our countries intend to participate in the front line for the humanity harmonious growth. Today, we are considered two issues as essential.
First, global warming. Who can talk about better than us ? For many centuries, we lived in harmony among a hostile nature. Never fatalistic, we are always determine to tame the climate throes. While many blame us to produce fossil fuels that contribute to the "greenhouse effect", we do think that the end of the oil reserves is a welcome opportunity to consider innovative solutions that can fit the whole planet. Not frightened by the deadline, we are working on promising projects, as for example, with a French team, lead by François de la Chevalerie, based on the production of no-fossil hydrocarbons without CO2 emissions. Our ambition is to produce clean energy.
Second point. Rather than fill ours countries with useless products, we could value the long time work of European researcher or creators. Because they financial lackness, somewhat alone, they need a clear endorsement. We could promote the implementation of ideas and patents. Together we can create added value finding alternatives to the energy crisis and also repair the ecosystem. New technologies promised Land, that’s a wonderful goal ! Moreover, that’s a positive contribution to humanity.
Improving the manking condition and targeting the peace should be the ambition of every Sovereign wealth funds !
